Time to attempt sailing for free at the Royal Temple Yacht Club
Ramsgate’s Royal Temple Yacht Club is offering newbies the scope to try sailing for the very first time later this month. The club, as a part of their countrywide Push the Boat Out initiative, would be providing free sailing class to those who have never attempted the sport on 9th May, Saturday.
The day will start at 10 am with a little briefing at the club. After that, the new sailors will be apportioned a boat as well as a crew, before going out on the water for some hours. The Push the Boat Out has become a yearly event arranged by Royal Yachting Association, to promote people who have no experience at all in sailing or even wind surfing to take to the water.
Previous year, twenty four thousand participated in the initiative and sailing clubs throughout the country garnered a total of one thousand new members.
Rear commodore sail Steve Stokes told that after the resounding success of previous open days they are holding another one this year. This is a great opportunity for complete new comers to relish a few hours of sailing with an experienced crew, now totally free of charge. They, this year, have joined with a whole lot of other yacht clubs and sailors. So, it is expected that they atmosphere will be really amazing.
Booking is necessary and it is available to people aged 18 or over. Children aged twelve and over can participate, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
